We arrived at the beautiful yellow beach house in Hermosa Beach at 10am on August 24, 2019 and began to unload our vehicles and get things set up for the 2019 Travel Therapy Beach Bash. Our entire team chipped in with a loving display of teamwork to get things set up and ready for guests to arrive. We were wrapping up with final details as travelers therapists started trickling and taking in the breathtaking 1930’s beach boardwalk home. Slowly but surely the house filled with local and travel therapists alike, mingling in the various rooms, patios, and on the enormous rooftop deck.
There was a spread of snacks on the large dining room table with tons of fruit, veggies, a nacho bar with all the fixings, desserts, and various other items. Attendees had no shortage of choices for beverages of all kinds, including Barry’s famous barrels of homemade sangria. The taco cart arrived 12:00 and began preparing chicken, carne, al pastor, and chorizo street tacos. The tacos and quesadillas were served from 1-4pm and were a clear favorite!
While some people relaxed and chatted on the couches and patios, others played beach volleyball, corn hole, and giant Jenga. We all enjoyed catching up with the people we had met at the Travel Therapy Beach Bash in 2018, meeting tons of awesome new people, and recruiters got to meet some of their travelers for the first time! We had many therapists come to network with travelers and quite a few who wanted to learn what it’s all about (shout out to Alex for flying in from Texas, that warmed our hearts!). The NETWORKING was incredible for everyone!
At 5pm we gathered on the roof for some group photos and video from a drone (that was awesome 🙌) and then we gathered on the beach for our traditional group photo. The party continued until 6pm, just like last year. Then we had to wrap things up and pack out. All in all, it was great event and everyone really enjoyed themselves! The most common feedback we received? Resounding and enthusiastic thank yous! We feel the same way about all of you and appreciate everything you do to help people live better lives. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to do something fun and unique to give back to you, and we genuinely thank everyone for coming out and making it a success!
