Preferred Healthcare Staffing is honored to recognize Lilah L., a devoted occupational therapist currently serving at an acute care facility in sunny Alhambra, California.
Lilah was nominated by her staffing manager, Mariah L’Africain, in recognition of the exceptional feedback she has consistently received from the clients she has worked with. She is an incredibly positive, bright, and compassionate individual—qualities that shine not only in the care she provides to her patients, but also in the way she shows up for her friends and family. Mariah shares how grateful she is to have the opportunity to work with Lilah.
How Occupational Therapy Became Lilah’s Calling
“Over 20 years ago I first saw occupational therapy in action, I was a nursing student at USC Medical Center and knew instantly I wanted to continue on with my education. Since becoming an OT, I’ve had wonderful opportunities to work in every capacity of the hospital setting from: emergency department, ICU at trauma level II hospitals, acute, rehabilitation units, traumatic hand injuries, outpatient, and I’ve also been a lead therapist in the cancer center working with lymphedema patients. I have intermittently worked with Preferred Healthcare since 2010, and I have been very thankful for the opportunity. I have extensive credentials and Preferred opened doors at very prestigious hospitals such as: Saint Jude, Northridge Hospital, Harbor UCLA Outpatient hands, and Alhambra Hospital. I have appreciated working registry since it offers flexibility and provides a schedule to fulfill my passion of traveling both nationally and abroad. I enjoy long walks, wildlife photography, and spending quality time with friends. I’ve been thankful to work with such a wonderful staff group. I love being an OT seeing people get better at establishing meaningful connections and helping people to return to their previous lifestyles every day and improving the qualities of their lives. ”
