We have the honor of introducing Gerald G., an accomplished Nuclear Medicine Technologist who works at the VA Long Beach hospital. Gerald’s Unique Journey to Become a Nuclear Medicine Tech
“Gerald moved to the U.S. from the Philippines in his early 20s and started his life here as an architect, but was bored just sitting at a desk all day. As fate would have it, he was laid off and chose to go back to school to be a nurse. Before he began though, he spoke with some friends who talked him into going into X-ray School. He graduated at the top of his class and became a radiologic technologist. After several years, he was feeling burnt out and was advised by a mentor to pursue a career in Nuclear Medicine. Again graduating with honors, Gerald became a Nuclear Medicine Technologist and hasn’t looked back. He feels that he’s found his niche and loves what he does. Today Gerald provides top quality healthcare to our country’s military veterans at the Long Beach VA hospital where he consistently receives great reviews from his supervisors and high marks from his patients. Gerald says that he believes in caring for his patients like they were his own family and treating everyone with respect regardless of who they are.”
