Our Latest Field Staff Recognition Winner
We have the privilege of introducing Dianne C., a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant who rehabilitates patients at a healthcare facility in Oakland, California. Dianne’s account manager, Peyton Pyburn, nominated her due to consistently positive feedback from clients, as well as her fantastic performance as a Preferred employee. Why Dianne Decided to Become a Physical Therapist Assistant
“As a result of diabetes, my maternal grandmother was legally blind (only able to see shadows), had an amputated leg above the knee and walked using bilateral crutches. This was in the ’70s, so she was given a semi wooden prosthesis, no physical therapy was offered, and yet she figured out how to walk with a prosthesis that had no knee flexion. I remember watching my grandmother climb the 11 steps in our house to get to the bathtub–handrail in her right hand, left crutch and my Mom beside her–like it was nothing. I was in awe!
I didn’t realize how much of an impact my grandmother had made on me until I became a physical therapist assistant. I love learning about the various backgrounds from each of my patients and sometimes their family members, but most importantly, I love getting to be a part of strengthening them back to their prior level of function and having them return to their home.
I’ve been fortunate to have Preferred Healthcare place me in a variety of settings throughout the Bay Area, allowing me to continue my passion of working with patients of all ages, and getting them back to their life and loved ones.”
