Why Miyka Loves Being a Speech-Language Pathologist
“I love being a speech language pathologist because I have the privilege to advocate for patients while assessing and treating a variety of disorders in the acute care setting and implementing evidence-based practice. This has included pre and post heart/lung transplants, tracheostomy, head and neck cancer, COVID, stroke, and many more patient populations! I have been so honored to be a part of staff at UCSD Jacobs Medical Center and be surrounded by other speech language pathologists who have the same inner motivation to make a difference in every case that we are a part of.”
