How Allie Decided to Become an Occupational Therapist
“My cousin suffered a brain tumor and subsequent hemiplegia in her teen years–she credits her therapists for who she has become and the ability to adapt and persist day to day despite her physical limitations. She is the reason I became an occupational therapist! I’ve spent most of my career as an OT working at trauma hospitals with severely injured patients who suffer polytrauma. I enjoy the challenge this setting offers as well the unity between medicine and therapy for the good of our patients. I was working in Richmond, VA for several years prior to beginning travel therapy. Preferred Healthcare has given me the opportunity to continue doing what I love all over the country. I love this ability to simultaneously work and travel!”
