Phlebotomist Job Description

The primary function of a Phlebotomist is to collect patient blood samples. This involves preparing patients, locating a vein, and inserting a needle (a process called “venipuncture”). Phlebotomy Technicians are also required to maintain organization and clear labeling, carefully transport specimens, and be friendly and informative to patients.
