A Cause Near and Dear to Our Hearts
Preferred’s Culture Committee asked internal employees about charitable organizations they support, and from these one in particular was chosen. It’s called Riding for the Handicapped of Western Pennsylvania. One of our recruiters, Julie Guiste, has a daughter that was born with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and autism. The RHWPA organization gives disabled children the opportunity to ride horses as part of therapeutic treatment. Julie’s daughter Haley has been riding with RHWPA for the past seven years, and it has literally changed her life. Riding horses makes her laugh and smile, and maintaining postural adjustments while riding is beneficial for these children. Preferred is holding an internal fundraiser, and the company will be matching all employee donations to this cause.
